Hey everyone!
As always, I try to give you the 411 with opportunities or tips based on my own personal research and one word for you: Volunteer. That's right, not only will offering your services to help out at show get you backstage but network as well. Long story short, I met someone very well known in this industry, offered to help out a show, helped out a year ago, got interviewed, no job but got to help out at another event for same person. Now you're probably wondering why would I do it again if I didn't get the job the first time, right? Wrong! I've realized that in any job, you start at the very bottom, this is no different. Plus, if you're serious about what you want then you won't give up...and they'll notice that you won't give up so easily either. Just remember, don't take advantage of the situation and try to go in the dressing rooms...even I know that is crossing the line for your (possible) employer(s). Believe me, you'll get your perks in the long run...it just takes till the end of the day to see the show. Word from the wise...doing dishes never hurt anyone...if you can do them at home then you can certainly wash a dish...that is feeding a rock star.
